

Youth Programme
F&BV CDT's Youth project for children from birth, now includes activities for ages S1-S6 as part of our Youth Pathways Programme. Led by Youth Worker, Alex at Eastfield Development Centre, the project offers a safe and supportive environment for young people to learn and grow and connect with others in the community.
Our programme runs weekly and is packed with engaging activities that promote personal development, creativity and teamwork. It is a great opportunity for children and young people to build confidence, make new friends, and socialise while learning valuable life skills.
What to expect

Tailored sessions
Children and young people will be grouped to ensure activities are suitable and meaningful for their age.

Creative and Activity Play
From arts, crafts, cooking, community garden, tutorials, games, drama, yoga, pottery, peer support and much more. Whether your young person loves crafts, sports or just meeting new friends, there will be something for everyone.
You decide
Just tell us what activity you would love to be part of or even suggest something we have not thought of yet, what day or evening would you like the activity to take place.

Little Learners
These weekly sessions, for ages 0-4 years, are held at EDC on Wednesday mornings from 10am-11.30am.
Focus is on learning, development, fun and play. Each session is thoughtfully planned to encourage exploration, creativity and social interaction in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Healthy snacks are provided so you and your Little Learner can enjoy a break during the fun.
Cost is £2/child

Little Chefs
This hands on weekly activity at EDC gives youngsters a chance to explore their creativity by making, for example, their own pizza, wraps, pasta, cheesecake and similar.
The focus is on using healthy ingredients and kitchen safety, helping young cooks gain confidence and learn basic cooking skills in a fun and supportive environment.
P4-P6 are on Wednesdays, 4pm-5pm
P1-P3 are on Fridays, 1.30pm-2.30pm
P7+ are on Fridays, 3pm-4pm

Youth Yoga
Youth Yoga with Maggie McKinstrie is at EDC on Wednesdays at 6pm.
This is a fun, relaxed space for young people to stretch, breathe, and unwind - while building confidence, focus, and strength.
This free class is for ages P6+ with a yoga mat provided.

Fun Football
These sessions, run by David (Duck) Facilities and Activities Worker at EDC, are a fun free way to get your child active and involved in the community. They are a great starting point for young children to play, learn and grow.
Children born 2020 can come along on Wednesdays from 5pm-5.45pm.
Children born 2021 and 2022 can come Thursdays from 5.15pm-6pm.
Currently, each week, we see an average of 30 children attending – and it’s really fantastic to see so many local kids developing confidence and enjoying sport!
Fun Football has now created teams who have been playing at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility at the weekends.

Little Roots
These drama workshops create positive spaces for children and young people to grow in confidence, develop new skills, and have fun making new friends.
At The Root Arts are currently providing drama workshops in Fauldhouse as part of our partnership with F&BV CDT on Saturday mornings from 9am-10am.
These free Elevate Kids drama and creative arts workshops for 4-7 year olds, focus on building confidence, having fun, and using creativity to express ourselves! Spaces are available for Elevate Kids.

Middle Roots

Barista Training
Burnhouse School/Skills Centre pupils attend The Hub every Wednesday morning to learn about and prepare a variety of Barista coffees, plus other hot and cold drinks. All activity is supported and supervised by their teachers.
The Hub's ‘Barista and Chat’ is attended by members of the community who can make a donation.
On Wednesdays, the students also offer a Barista service and additionally lunch time soup and toasties are served.
These activities enable students to work towards an SCQF Level 5 in Barista Skills. The training also allows students to learn and improve their life skills, customer service skills and prepare them for a positive destination after school.

We are pleased to be able to offer dedicated learning environments for the West Lothian Council INSPIRE Pathways Programme.
Facilities at Eastfield Development Centre provide teachers with suitable spaces for both small-group activities and one-to-one lessons.
