VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers are at the core of F&BV CDT’s activities, from volunteering time at our some of our events once a year, to volunteering on a more regular basis as a volunteer member of our Board of Directors. Every volunteer, whether they volunteer for an hour, or whether they volunteer on a daily basis, are all vital to the success of F&BV CDT. We value their time and their commitment.
Below are a few examples of the work they do within our communities:
-
F&BV CDT have volunteers on Subgroups such as the EDC Management, Newsletter, Event,
Staffing Subgroups. -
Members of the community volunteer regularly at the Friday Drop-in.
-
We have event volunteers who are happy to volunteer in the run up to events we hold annually, on our Events Subgroup and at the actual events.
-
Volunteers help out on a weekly basis for a couple of hours at our Eastfield Tots group.
-
Volunteers help at our Youth Clubs.
-
A volunteer Makers Group meet weekly all year to create items they sell to fundraise for F&BV CDT.
-
We have an army of willing volunteers who help pack food hampers and deliver toys and the hampers for F&BV CDT’s Annual Christmas Appeal.
-
Dedicated volunteers from the local community help to run the annual Remembrance Sunday Service.
-
After completing training, some of our volunteers are ‘Pilots’ (Trishaw drivers) on our Cycling Without Age project taking out older, disabled and/or isolated individuals.
-
Volunteers are vital to the success of F&BV CDT’s Falla Hill Forest and Ponds Project, a range of Village Improvement Initiatives and a range of initiatives to combat Anti-Social Behaviour within our Communities, and much more.
-
F&BV CDT also have very young volunteers! Sheephousehill Nursery children water the planters on the village green for the Trust in the summer and Fallahill Nursery and their teachers deliver bags of food to The Hub that they have collected for the Food Larder.

We always need volunteers! You may be a student looking for a work placement? You may be retired and looking to fill your day a wee bit? You may just want to be more involved in the local community? If so, F&BV CDT would love to hear from you!
