The Hub, 10 Main Street, Fauldhouse​

 

This community owned and community managed building was purchased from West Lothian Council and opened in May 2011. 


A range of groups and activities operate from The Hub. This includes a wide range of individual, family and community based support projects and initiatives. Such as, mental health and wellbeing support, individual and family support, support for older people and for those with caring responsibilities, among others. Below is a snapshot of The Hub Programme.

The Hub:

  • Provides a base for F&BV CDT/The Hub Manager, F&BV CDT Office Manager and F&BV CDT Communications Co-ordinator.

  • Manages, administers, and distributes, on behalf of RES-Group, £10,000 in Community Benefit Funds each year as part of F&BV CDT’s Small Grants Programme. 

  • Provides support for community groups and projects and information, support, signposting and referrals for members of the public who drop in or call The Hub or are directed from Eastfield Development Centre, or one of our partner organisations.

  • Rents offices to local organisations and businesses and has space to rent or hire.

  • Co-ordinates F&BV CDT annual events.

  • Provides a Community Design Service.

  • Groups such as, The Walking Group, Stronger Together Group, Art Group, Sewing Group, 

  • Thursday Drop-in and many other groups and projects also operate from the Hub.

  • Operates the Fauldhouse Trishaw Project and provides administrative support to the Cycling Without Age Fauldhouse project.

  • Houses a defibrillator installed on the front of the building.

  • Is the base for a range of support information and advice services such as Bridge Community Project, Advice Shop, Social Security Scotland and Community Connections, among others.​

Eastfield Development Centre, Fauldhouse

Eastfield Development Centre (EDC) is F&BV CDT’s second community owned building. The building was asset transferred from West Lothian Council in 2022. 


F&BV CDT’s aim is to make EDC into a lively and thriving community asset. The projects and activities based at EDC will be securely linked to the aims and objectives of F&BV CDT and will work holistically with the programme at The Hub, each centres programme of activities will complement the other. Below is a snapshot of the current EDC programme.


Currently EDC:

  • Provides a base for the Eastfield Development Centre Manager, Development Worker and Youth Worker (sessional).

  • Rents space to local community groups and individuals for activities and classes.

  • Rents community space for children’s parties, community events and fundraisers.

  • Hires out the surrounding pitches to local football teams.

  • Has a thriving Children’s and Youth Work Programme (0-16 years). 

  • Hosts Classes such as yoga, exercise, drama and theatre groups.

  • Is the venue for F&BV CDT events such as Craft Fairs and F&BV CDT’s September Annual Fair Day.

  • Holds Drop ins and May’s Second Hand Goods Stall, cooking demonstrations and information sessions by the Bridge Community Project and advice sessions by CAB West Lothian.
